ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (Oct. 21, 2013) – Sims-Lohman, Inc. a granite countertop manufacturer and cabinet distributor, announced plans today to expand its operations here, creating up to 32 new jobs by 2015.
The Cincinnati-headquartered company plans to invest $2 million to purchase and equip a 57,000 square-foot facility located at 7113 Mayflower Park Drive in Zionsville. The new facility, which will be fully operational this month, will include a showroom for the company’s product lines as well as stone fabrication production space.

Sims-Lohman, which currently has 22 full-time employees in Zionsville, has already begun hiring additional fabricators, installers and sales associates. Economic Development
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Sims-Lohman, Inc. up to $150,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The town of Zionsville supports this project at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation.
“This is a wonderful announcement,” said Jeff Papa, president of the Zionsville Town Council. “Having a great company like Sims-Lohman add new jobs and grow its facility here is outstanding.”
Companies like Sims-Lohman are taking advantage of central Indiana’s growing market for new construction projects. Building permits issued for single family homes increased 23 percent in the last year for the nine-county Indianapolis region, with more than 3,900 permits issued year to date. According to the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, an economic impact exceeding $704 million in local income so far this year has been generated directly from home construction.
